colombian
cinematographer,
and amateur
dancer :)
Born in Medellín Colombia, yet zigzagging between it and California, since age 9. Luisa is an emerging cinematographer and ArtCenter College of Design ''17 alumni, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production, and a minor in Cinematography. In 2020, Luisa was awarded an ASC Master Class Visions Scholarship, and in 2021 she became a part of the first ICONIC Lift-Off cohort.
While going to high school in Colombia, she became an audience and participant of Medellín’s vibrant art, film, photography, and dance scene. She took film and art workshops, and became self taught in manual photography. Her passion for dance always drove her to learn about the history of dance, and movement in cinema, which she still loves to study to this day.
Her experience ranges from shooting narrative or documentary short stories, music videos, stills photography, branded content — to working as a 2nd AC on highlight projects such as with FREEJOY productions and MAMAG_ on Beyonce’s Black Is King, and The Killers new visual album, or as Digital utility on two Warners Brother productions; Netflix’s Lucifer S5 and on Cherish the Day S1, ex. prod by Ava DuVerney, Oprah Winfrey, Tanya Hamilton, and Paul Garner.
